Helpful Hint: 4 Ways a Freezer Inventory Can Save Money and Time!

Tired of standing with the freezer door open and peering in to see what’s in there that you can cook for supper? Or worse still, finding some forgotten food lost at the bottom of the freezer, only to find it years later and you have to throw it away? Set up a “Freezer Inventory” sheet. It’s helpful in more than one way. Here’s four reasons why a Freezer Inventory sheet will help you save money and time in the kitchen.

1. Know Your Inventory

Because you always know what is in your freezer, you never have to worry about lost, or forgotten food…saving you money right off the bat!

2. Stock Up with Sales

Save money by buying foods when they are on sale, then put them in your freezer. But before putting away, be sure to update your inventory sheet.

3. Easy Menu Planning

When you make your menu for the upcoming week, just pull out your Freezer Inventory and use what you’ve already bought (on sale) and then fill in the blanks with other foods that are on sale that week (by looking through the sale flyers from the Sunday paper). As you take food out of the freezer, be sure to update your inventory sheet.

4. Avoid Digging Through the Freezer

If you have a taste for a certain food and don’t know if you have it already, just check your inventory sheet! If you have it, you’ll know at a glance. Avoid the hassle of digging through the freezer looking for something that may, or may not, be there!

Download the Freezer Inventory sheet and revise for your own family and needs.

I’m hopeless when it comes to keeping track of things…probably because I do the shopping and hubby is the one that does 80% of the cooking. Thanks for posting this on the #fandayfriday link party. #fdflinkparty

What a great idea! I always forget what is in the large freezer we have and end up filling it with more meals that we can cope with! Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove x

This is a great idea! My husband is super organised when it comes to our freezer, and we mainly only use it for freezing portions of different meats (in different drawers) – I don’t like to mess with his methods! Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
